You'll need to be an Administrator or Developer user to create rules. Analyst users can view events but not create or modify rules.
Create a new rule
- Sign in to the Codat Portal.
- In the navigation bar, select Settings > WebhooksWebhook An automated notification sent from Codat to your application when specific events occur, such as when data syncs complete or connections change status. > Rules.
- Select Create new rule. The Create new rule modal is displayed.
- From the Rule type dropdown, select the event you would like to be notified of. See Rule types for more details of the events that trigger a webhookWebhook An automated notification sent from Codat to your application when specific events occur, such as when data syncs complete or connections change status. and the details included in the notification.
- In the CompanyCompany In Codat, a company represents your customer's business entity. - In the Email addresses to notify box, enter a comma-separated list of email addresses that should receive the notification.

Update an existing rule
You can update the companyCompany In Codat, a company represents your customer's business entity. Companies can have multiple connections to different data sources. you want to monitor, or the notification methods you want to use for a rule at any time.
- Follow steps 1 and 2 in Create a new rule.
- On the Rules page, find the rule you're interested in and click its Edit icon.
- Update the rule as required.
- Select Save changes.
